Saint-Cierges was once a small town, or municipality, located in the Gros-de-Vaud area of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. Its name comes from Saint Cyriacus, who is considered the town's special protector, or patron saint.

On January 1, 2013, Saint-Cierges joined with several other towns. These included Chapelle-sur-Moudon, Correvon, Denezy, Martherenges, Neyruz-sur-Moudon, Peyres-Possens, Thierrens, and Chanéaz. Together, they formed a brand new town called Montanaire.

History of Saint-Cierges

Saint-Cierges was first mentioned in old records around the years 1145 to 1154. Back then, it was known as de sancto Sergio. Later, in 1166, its name changed slightly to de sancto Ciriaco.

These hamlets are Corrençon, Pré-de-Place, and Solitude.
