Martherenges was a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Vaud region of Switzerland. It was part of the Gros-de-Vaud District. On January 1, 2013, Martherenges joined with several other towns to form a new, larger municipality called Montanaire.

Martherenges is first mentioned in old records from the 15th Century. Back then, it was known as Martherenges.
Geography of Martherenges
Martherenges was a small place, covering about 0.8 square kilometers (0.3 square miles) in 2009. Most of this land, about 60%, was used for farming. Forests covered about 35% of the area. The remaining 5% had buildings and roads.
The town was located on a hill. This hill was on the left side of the Broye river valley. Until 2006, Martherenges was part of the Moudon District. After that, it became part of the new Gros-de-Vaud District.

The coat of arms for Martherenges had a special design. It was divided into four parts by a diagonal cross. Two parts were red and two were green. In the middle, there was a large silver letter "M".
Population and People of Martherenges
In 2011, Martherenges had a population of 77 people. Over ten years, from 1999 to 2009, the number of people living there grew by about 13.6%. This growth was mostly because more babies were born than people died.
Most people in Martherenges spoke French in 2000, about 91.5%. A smaller number spoke German (5.6%) or Dutch (1.4%).
