Types of Oreostemma Plants

There are a few different kinds of Oreostemma plants. Here are the main ones:

  • Oreostemma alpigenum (Tundra aster) — You can find this plant in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. It often grows in tundra areas.
  • Oreostemma elatum (Plumas alpine aster) — This type of Oreostemma grows in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. It's a beautiful plant found in alpine regions.
  • Oreostemma peirsonii (Peirson's aster) — This plant is special because it only grows in California, specifically in the southern part of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
