Education in the Oto Area
Students in Oto are part of the Maple Valley–Anthon–Oto Community School District. This district was formed after several local school districts combined.
Originally, the Oto and Anthon school districts joined together in 1959 to create the Anthon–Oto Community School District. Later, around 1993, the Anthon–Oto district started sharing classes with the Maple Valley Community School District. This meant all high school students from both districts went to high school in Mapleton. Finally, on July 1, 2012, the Anthon–Oto district officially merged with Maple Valley to form the current Maple Valley–Anthon–Oto district.
