Otter Lake is a fun lake in Oakland County, Michigan. It's about 74 acres big. You can do all sorts of water sports there! The lake is also connected to the main part of the Clinton River.
Otter Lake is located in Waterford Township, Michigan. It's west of the city of Pontiac. You can find it south of Voorhies Road, east of Cass Lake Road, and west of Telegraph Road.
Connecting Lakes
Otter Lake is like a middle child! To its north, it connects to a smaller lake called Geneva Lake. Geneva Lake is about 19 acres.
To its south, Otter Lake connects to a much bigger lake, Sylvan Lake. Sylvan Lake is huge, about 458 acres! When you add Otter Lake and Sylvan Lake together, they make a total of 532 acres. This makes them the seventh largest lake area in Oakland County.
Why the Name Otter Lake?
Otter Lake got its name from the North American river otter. These playful animals used to live in the area a lot. They are known for being very good swimmers and fish eaters!
