Our Lips Are Sealed is a fun movie from the year 2000, starring the famous twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. This film was made especially for home video and takes place in beautiful Sydney, Australia, which is also where they filmed it!
What's the Story?
The movie follows twin sisters Maddie and Abby Parker. Their family gets into a tricky situation when they witness a robbery at a local museum. A very valuable diamond, called the Neil Diamond, is stolen! Because they saw the crime, the family has to join the United States Federal Witness Protection Program. This program helps keep people safe when they've seen something dangerous.
But Maddie and Abby have a big problem: they can't keep a secret! No matter where the FBI sends them to live, the girls accidentally tell everyone that they are in witness protection. This makes it very hard for the FBI to keep them safe.
The bad guy is a crime boss named Hatchew. He really wants to get his hands on the stolen diamond. What he doesn't know is that the thieves accidentally dropped the diamond into Abby's shoulder bag during their escape! The gem later ends up as part of her necklace.
The Parker family travels all over the United States, trying to stay hidden. They go from Texas to small prairie towns. Eventually, they have been moved to almost every place in the world! The only place left is Australia. So, the FBI, who are getting tired of moving the family so often, decide to send them to live in Sydney.
When they first arrive in Sydney, the girls have a tough time fitting in. They struggle to make friends and get used to their new life. Meanwhile, two bad guys, Mac and Sidney, find out where the twins are living. They broke into the FBI office to get this information.
Maddie and Abby are clever and manage to defeat Mac and Sidney. They knock them out, tie them to surfboards, and even put clips in Sidney's hair and paint Mac's toenails! They also threaten to put bras on them. The twins are so convincing that they actually get Mac and Sidney to switch sides and help them! Mac and Sidney leave for a bit after the girls trick Hatchew into coming to Australia.
Hatchew arrives and almost gets away with the diamond on a seaplane. But Maddie and Abby stop him using a boomerang! He is then arrested by Katie, who was actually an undercover FBI agent pretending to be a lifeguard. Finally, the Parker family can go back home to the United States. They even get half of the reward money for helping to catch the bad guys!
