Ousby is a small village and civil parish located in the Eden area of Cumbria, England. A civil parish is a local area with its own council, helping to manage local services.
Ousby is known as a Thankful Village. This means it is one of only 52 parishes in England and Wales where every soldier who left to fight in World War I returned home safely. No lives were lost from Ousby during that war.
In 2001, the village had a population of 362 people. By 2011, this number had grown to 447. The Ousby parish includes several smaller areas called hamlets. These are Crewgarth, Row, Shire, and Townhead.
