Map of municipality of Overbetuwe, June 2015

Overbetuwe is a municipality in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. A municipality is like a local government area. It was created on January 1, 2001. This happened when three smaller municipalities, Elst, Heteren, and Valburg, joined together.

Overbetuwe is located between two important rivers. The Rhine river forms its northern border. The Waal river is to the south. The main office for the municipality, called the town hall, is in Elst.
