Palouse is a small city located in Whitman County, Washington, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,015 people lived there. The city is named after the beautiful farmland region where it is found.

History of Palouse
Palouse was first settled in 1869 by a person named William Ewing. The official town area was started in 1875 by W.P. Breeding. The city was officially formed, or "incorporated," in 1888.
In 1974, Palouse made national news for something really cool. The local school allowed its students to create, film, and broadcast their own TV shows! These shows were shown on Channel 9 of the Palouse cable TV system.
On August 27, 2019, Palouse adopted its very own city flag. A local resident started a campaign to make this happen. The flag is green and features a gold and blue knot. This knot represents the city's people, its businesses, and the nearby Palouse River.
