Pamela Ferris (born on May 11, 1948) is a talented British actress. She has starred in many popular British TV shows. These include The Darling Buds of May (1991–1993) and Call the Midwife (2012–2016). She was also nominated three times for the Most Popular Actress award for her role in Where the Heart Is.
Pam Ferris is perhaps best known to young audiences for playing the strict Miss Agatha Trunchbull in the movie Matilda (1996). She also played Marge Dursley in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004). Other movie roles include Miriam in Children of Men (2006) and Mrs. Bevan in Nativity! (2009). She even voiced a character in the animated film Ethel & Ernest (2016).
On stage, her acting in the play The Entertainer earned her a nomination for a special award called the Laurence Olivier Award in 2007.

Early Life and Beginnings
Pamela Ferris was born in Hanover, Germany, on May 11, 1948. Her mother was Welsh, and her father was English. He was serving in the Royal Air Force at the time. After her parents moved back to the United Kingdom, Pam grew up in Wales. Her father was a policeman, and her mother worked in her family's bakery.

Pam Ferris started acting at the Mercury Theatre in Auckland when she was younger. Later, she worked with different theater groups in the UK.
Famous TV Roles
One of her most loved roles was Ma Larkin in the TV series The Darling Buds of May. This show was on from 1991 to 1993. She also appeared in many other TV dramas. These include Connie, Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit, and Where the Heart Is. From 2003 to 2006, she played Laura Thyme, a gardening detective, in Rosemary & Thyme.
