Pam Oliver's Early Life and School Days
Pam Oliver was born in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Niceville, Florida. At Niceville High School, she was a great athlete. She played tennis, basketball, and ran track and field.
She continued her sports journey at Florida A&M University. There, she was an "All-American" athlete. This means she was one of the best in the country. She excelled in the 400-meter race and the mile relay.
Starting Her Career in Broadcasting
Pam Oliver began her career in 1985. She started as a news reporter at WALB in Albany, Georgia. The next year, she moved to WAAY-TV in Huntsville, Alabama. In 1988, Oliver worked at WIVB-TV in Buffalo, New York.
She then moved to WTVT in Tampa, Florida, in 1990. This is where she started her sports reporting career. In 1991, she became a sports anchor. Later, Oliver moved to KHOU-TV in Houston. She continued her work as a sports anchor there.
Working with Major Sports Networks
In 1993, Pam Oliver joined ESPN. This was a big step in her career. Two years later, in 1995, she joined Fox Sports. At Fox, she became a sideline reporter. She worked with the network's top broadcast team. This team included famous announcers Pat Summerall and John Madden.
From 2005 to 2009, Oliver also worked for TNT. She was a sideline reporter for their NBA Playoffs coverage. This showed her talent in both football and basketball.

On July 14, 2014, Fox made a change. Pam Oliver moved to the network's second NFL broadcasting team. Erin Andrews took over her spot on the top team. In early 2015, Fox extended Oliver's contract. She continued as a sideline reporter for the second team.
She has kept this role through the 2024 NFL season. In Week 6 of the 2023 NFL season, she worked with the third team. This was for the Lions-Buccaneers game. She worked alongside Adam Amin and Daryl Johnston. Pam Oliver continues to be a respected voice in sports.
