Most of Park Avenue is for homes. There are also some industrial areas. Stockland Rockhampton is a big shopping centre here. You can also find many shops along Yaamba Road. This road forms the north-eastern border of the suburb.
You can find Kershaw Gardens and Tom Nutley Field along the south-western edge. Queen's Park is at the very southern tip. It's right by the Fitzroy River and the Neville Hewitt Bridge. The Rockhampton-Yeppoon Road (also called Yaamba Road) runs along the north-eastern border. It's also part of the Bruce Highway.
