It cost $40,000 to build and was finished in 1886.

Paulding also used to have three grain elevators. These were places where grain was stored. Now, most grain is moved by trucks because the train service stopped in the 1980s.

Many different factories have opened and closed in Paulding over the years. They made things like glass mailboxes, ink wells, and brake parts. Today, there are still some small factories. However, the biggest employer in Paulding is the government. The Paulding Exempted Village Schools is the largest organization that employs people. Many Paulding residents travel to other counties for factory jobs.
