A school called Pechey Provisional School opened on March 19, 1889. It later became Pechey State School in 1909. However, the school closed its doors in 1959.
St Faith's Anglican Church was officially opened on September 10, 1911. Years later, in 1931, the church building was moved to a different place called Virginia (now known as Pierces Creek). It was opened again there on March 1, 1931.
Pechey also had its own Post Office, which opened on July 1, 1927. Before that, there was a smaller "receiving office" for mail since 1888. The Post Office closed in 1971.
