Whichello is a small, quiet area in the countryside of Queensland, Australia. It's part of the Toowoomba Region. In 2021, only 31 people lived there, making it a very tiny community!

Whichello's Location and Landscape
Whichello is located in a beautiful area called the Darling Downs, in southern Queensland. To its northeast, you'll find the Great Dividing Range, a long chain of mountains.
The land in Whichello ranges from about 560 to 75 meters above sea level. Most of the land is used for grazing animals on natural grasslands. Some areas are also used for growing crops.
The Pechey-Maclagan Road is an important road that runs through Whichello. It connects the area from Pechey in the east to Groomsville in the south.
A Look Back at Whichello's History
Whichello once had its own school! The Whichello Provisional School first opened its doors on April 18, 1894. It later became Whichello State School in 1909. However, the school closed down on January 22, 1942.
The old school was located on a 5-acre site on the northern side of Whichello School Road. Today, this spot has been turned into a park for everyone to enjoy.
There was also a church in Whichello. The Whichello Methodist Church opened in March 1907. It was a wooden church that could seat about 50 people. It stood on a 1-acre plot, also on the northern side of Whichello School Road, a short distance east of the old school. In 1952, the church building was moved to Wilsonton.

Whichello is a very small community. In both the 2016 census and 2021 census surveys, the population of Whichello was recorded as 31 people. This means it's a quiet place where everyone likely knows each other!
