Perkinsville is a small place in Madison County, Indiana, in the United States. It is called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a town that doesn't have its own local government, but it's still a recognized area. History of Perkinsville
Perkinsville was officially started in 1837. It was named after an early settler in the area, William Parkins. For many years, Perkinsville had its own post office. This post office served the community from 1844 until 1912.
Geography and Location
Perkinsville is located in the western part of Madison County. It sits right on the border with Hamilton County.
Roads and Nearby Towns
Indiana State Road 13 runs along the western edge of Perkinsville. This road follows the county line. If you travel south on SR 13, you will reach Fishersburg in about 5 miles. Going north on SR 13, you will find Elwood about 9 miles away.
The city of Anderson is about 10 miles to the southeast. Anderson is the main city and the county seat for Madison County. Another nearby city is Noblesville, which is about 12 miles to the southwest.
