Perry Firestone King (born April 30, 1948) is an American actor. He is well known for his many roles in television shows and movies.
Perry King was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. This was for his part in the TV movie The Hasty Heart (1983). This film was a new version of an older movie from 1949.

Early Life and Education
Perry King was born in Alliance, Ohio. His father was a doctor. His grandfather, Maxwell Perkins, was a famous editor for a publishing company. Through his family, Perry King is related to important historical figures like U.S. Senator William M. Evarts and Roger Sherman, who signed the United States Declaration of Independence.
Perry King studied drama at Yale University. He also went to the Juilliard School, which is a very famous school for performing arts.
Acting Career Highlights
Perry King started his acting career in movies in 1972. His first film was Slaughterhouse-Five. In 1974, he played Chico Tyrell in The Lords of Flatbush. A year later, in 1975, he was Hammond Maxwell in the movie Mandingo.
Since the 1970s, Perry King has acted in many movies and TV shows. He even tried out for the role of Han Solo in the first Star Wars movie! While Harrison Ford got the part in the film, Perry King later voiced Han Solo in the Star Wars radio shows.
In 1984, he was nominated for a Golden Globe award for his role in the TV movie The Hasty Heart. That same year, he got a main role as Cody Allen in the TV series Riptide. This show was about three friends who solved mysteries.
Perry King continued to appear in many TV productions. In 1993, he starred in A Stranger in the Mirror, a TV movie based on a book by Sidney Sheldon. He also played Hayley Armstrong on the popular show Melrose Place in 1995. Later, in 2000, he was Richard Williams in the NBC TV series Titans. You might also remember him as the President of the United States in the 2004 movie The Day After Tomorrow.
He has also made guest appearances on many other TV shows. These include Spin City, Will & Grace, Eve, and Cold Case. Besides acting on screen, Perry King has also done voice work. He was the voice of Samson in the 1985 animated movie Samson & Delilah. He also voiced the character Randall in an episode of SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron.

Perry King has been married and divorced twice. He has two daughters and one granddaughter.
He loves motorcycles! Perry King is a big fan of motorcycling and collects motorcycles and sidecars. He even appeared on a TV show called California's Gold to talk about his collection. In 2008, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) asked him to join their Board of Directors.
