Sir Peter James Ogden (born in 1947) is an English businessman. He is famous for being one of the people who started Computacenter. This company is one of the biggest computer businesses in the United Kingdom.

Early Life and Education
Sir Peter Ogden was born in Rochdale, England. He went to Rochdale Grammar School, which is now called Balderstone Technology College.
In 1965, he earned a special award to study at University College, Durham. There, he earned a degree in Physics in 1968. He then continued his studies and received a higher degree, a PhD, in Theoretical Physics in 1971. Later, he studied business at Harvard Business School and earned an MBA in 1973.
Career Highlights
Sir Peter Ogden started his career working for big investment banks. These included Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, where he became a managing director.
Starting Computacenter
In 1981, Sir Peter Ogden co-founded Computacenter with Philip Hulme. He was the chairman of the company until 1998. After that, he continued to be involved as a non-executive director.
Helping Others: The Ogden Trust
Sir Peter also created a special charity called The Ogden Trust. This trust helps support education and other good causes. In 2006–2007, the trust spent over £1 million to help people.
Special Recognition
In 2005, Sir Peter Ogden was made a knight by the Queen. This is a special honour given to people who have done great things for their country.
Other Ventures
In 1996, Sir Peter Ogden was the leaseholder of Jethou, a small island in the Channel Islands.
He also co-owns a company called MotorSport Vision with Jonathan Palmer, a former Formula One race car driver. This company manages race tracks, including the famous Donington Park circuit in Leicestershire. Sir Peter's share in this company is worth a lot of money.
In May 2024, Sir Peter's children, Cameron, Edward, and Tiffany, bought a major share of their hometown football club, Rochdale.
