What is Pike Run?
Pike Run is a type of stream known as a tributary. This means it's a smaller stream that flows into a bigger one. In this case, Pike Run flows into Beden Brook. Beden Brook then joins the Millstone River, which eventually flows into the Raritan River. The Raritan River finally empties into the Atlantic Ocean. So, Pike Run is part of a much larger water system!
Where Does Pike Run Start?
Pike Run begins in a few different spots. One main starting point is near the intersection of Route 206 and Belle Mead-Griggstown Road. This is around the coordinates 40°27′19″N 74°39′4″W / 40.45528°N 74.65111°W.
The stream also has branches that come from the eastern side of the Sourland Mountains. Another part of the stream flows through what used to be the Pike Brook Country Club, which is now the Mattawang Golf Club.
How Does Pike Run Flow?
As Pike Run flows, other smaller streams join it. First, Cruser Brook adds its water to Pike Run. Then, Pike Run continues south and meets up with Back Brook and Pine Tree Run.
After these streams join, Pike Run crosses River Road. Finally, it flows into Beden Brook at 40°25′9″N 74°38′22″W / 40.41917°N 74.63944°W.
