Beden Brook, also known as Bedens Brook or Beden's Brook, is a small stream in central New Jersey, United States. It is a tributary of the Millstone River. This means Beden Brook flows into the Millstone River. The Millstone River then joins the Raritan River, which eventually flows into the Atlantic Ocean.
Where Does Beden Brook Start and Go?
The Beden Brook has a few starting points, called headwaters. One main branch begins west of Hopewell. It flows east, then south, and then east again.
Another branch starts on the southern side of Sourland Mountain. This branch flows south. These two branches meet up and then flow eastward.
The stream passes through the Bedens Brook Club, which is south of Blawenburg. After Blawenburg, the brook turns northeast. A smaller stream called Cherry Run joins it from the south.
Beden Brook then goes under a road called Georgetown and Franklin Turnpike (which is also known as CR-518). Here, another stream called Rock Brook flows into it. The brook continues east, passing under U.S. Route 206. Finally, Pike Run joins Beden Brook before it empties into the Millstone River.
What Streams Flow Into Beden Brook?
Smaller streams that flow into a larger stream or river are called tributaries. Beden Brook has a few important tributaries:
- Pike Run
- Rock Brook
- Cherry Run (This stream is not officially listed by the USGS, but locals know it.)
