Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil facts for kids
Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil (which means "Pind Dadan Khan Area" in Urdu and Punjabi) is a small but important part of Jhelum District in Punjab, Pakistan. It's one of the oldest areas of its kind in Pakistan. The main town, also called Pind Dadan Khan, sits right by the Jhelum River. It is about 28 kilometres from the M2 motorway.
This area is famous for the Khewra Salt Mines. These are the largest salt mines in all of Asia! People have been mining salt here for over 2000 years. Inside the mines, there's even an underground mosque.
Pind Dadan Khan Tehsil has a very long history. It goes all the way back to the time of Alexander the Great. He was a famous ancient Greek king. People say that Alexander the Great's famous horse, Bucephalus, is buried in a small town called Jalalpur Sharif, which is in Pind Dadan Khan. The area is named after Nawab Dadan Khan. He was a Muslim Governor of Lahore in the 1700s. Lahore is the capital city of Punjab.

Nawabzada Ghzanfar Ali Khan
Nawabzada Ghzanfar Ali Khan was a very important Muslim leader. He was a minister in the government in 1946. After Pakistan became an independent country, he held several important jobs. He was the Minister of Health, Food, and Agriculture. Later, in December 1947, he became the Minister for Refugees and Rehabilitation. This was a very important job, helping people who had to move to Pakistan.
Mohammad Ramzan Chotana
Another notable person from this area was Mohammad Ramzan Chotana. He was very skilled in many technical fields. The British Government gave him several gold medals for his amazing abilities.
Justice (R) Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad
In more recent times, Justice (R) Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad was a very respected person. He served as the Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court from 2014 to 2015. He was the first person from Pind Dadan Khan to become a judge of the Lahore High Court. He is still remembered for his important work in Pakistan's legal system.
