Pinedale is a town in Sublette County, Wyoming, United States. It's also the county seat, which means it's where the local government offices are located. In 2020, about 2,005 people lived there.
Pinedale is a popular spot for people going on hunting trips. It's also a starting point for adventures in the amazing Wind River Mountains. The town is close to big natural gas fields, like the Pinedale Anticline.
There are many fun things to do in Pinedale. You can visit the Museum of the Mountain Man or enjoy the Green River Rendezvous Days. Other attractions include the White Pine Ski Area and the Pinedale Aquatic Center. The current mayor of Pinedale is Matt Murdock.

Geography of Pinedale
Pinedale is located in Wyoming at an elevation of about 7,175 feet (2,187 meters) above sea level. The town covers an area of about 2.15 square miles (5.6 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
There are over 1,300 lakes near Pinedale! Fremont Lake is only four miles away. It's the second-largest natural lake in Wyoming and a very popular spot. Pine Creek flows through the town from Fremont Lake. It eventually joins the Green River.
Pinedale's Climate
Pinedale has a type of climate called a humid continental climate. This means summers have warm afternoons but cool mornings. Winters are very cold and dry.
In January, the average low temperature is about 1.9°F (–16.7°C). It often gets below 0°F (–18°C) in winter. The coldest temperature ever recorded was –49°F (–45°C) in December 1990. Even though winters are dry, Pinedale gets a lot of snow. A typical winter sees about 76 inches (1.9 meters) of snow.

Wildlife in Pinedale
The Pinedale area is home to many different kinds of wildlife. You might see grizzly bears and black bears. There are also moose, elk, and pronghorn. Other animals include mule deer, whitetail deer, bighorn sheep, and mountain lions. The lakes in the area have over seven types of trout, including rainbow and brown trout.
