History of Point Blank
Point Blank got its name around 1850. A French woman named Florence Dissiway gave it the original name, "Blanc Point." She was from Alabama and worked as a governess for a family in the area. Later, the name was changed to Point Blank.
Geography and Location
Point Blank is located in Texas, right next to Lake Livingston. The city's exact location is 30°44′50″N 95°12′40″W / 30.74722°N 95.21111°W.
The city covers a total area of about 2.2 square miles (5.7 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 1.9 square miles (4.9 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.3 square miles (0.8 square kilometers), is water, which is about 13.7% of the total area.
