Early Life and First Steps in Music

Jason Paul Douglas Boyd was born in New Haven, Connecticut. When he was nine years old, a tornado destroyed his home. He and his mother then moved to Atlanta, Georgia.

Poo Bear's music career began when he worked with the R&B group 112. He helped write their songs "Dance with Me" and "Peaches & Cream". These songs helped him become known in the music world.

After his success with 112, Poo Bear continued to write songs for other famous artists. He worked with Chris Brown, Jill Scott, and Mariah Carey.

In 2004, he co-wrote "Caught Up" for Usher's album Confessions. This album sold over 10 million copies in the US. "Caught Up" was a big hit, reaching number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Working with Justin Bieber

In January 2013, Poo Bear met Justin Bieber in Las Vegas, Nevada. They quickly became friends because they had similar childhoods and liked the same kind of music. They traveled the world together, working on songs for Bieber's albums. During this time, Poo Bear focused only on writing for Justin Bieber.
