The Story of Poppycock
The exact beginning of Poppycock is a bit of a mystery.
How Poppycock Started
Some say that a person named Howard Vair invented Poppycock in the 1950s. He supposedly made it as a snack to take with him on long car trips.
Changes Over Time
In 1960, a company from Switzerland called Wander bought the rights to Poppycock. They started making it in their factory in Villa Park, Illinois, in the United States. Later, in 1969, a snack that sounded a lot like Poppycock was patented by Arnold Rebane. He also worked for the Wander Company.
Who Owns Poppycock Now
In 1991, the Lincoln Snacks Company bought Poppycock. Then, on September 7, 2007, ConAgra Foods purchased Lincoln Snacks. This means ConAgra Foods now owns Poppycock. You might also see Poppycock linked with the Orville Redenbacher's brand, which is famous for its popcorn.
