The Asociación PuntuLLI (pronounced "poon-too-YEE") is a group that wants to create a special internet address, called a Top Level Domain (TLD), for the Leonese language and culture. Think of a TLD like the ".com" or ".org" part of a website address. PuntuLLI wants one that ends in ".lli".
Other places like Scotland (with ".sco"), Wales (with ".cym"), Berlin (with ".berlin"), and New York (with ".nyc") have also started similar campaigns for their own special internet addresses. PuntuLLI is officially recognized by a group called cityTLD as a real effort to get this new internet address.

Why PuntuLLI Started
The idea to get a ".lli" internet address began in January 2007. The goal was to get support from different groups and organizations. Many types of groups have joined in to help. These include groups focused on culture, language, sport, and even nature. They all support asking ICANN for this new internet address. ICANN is the main organization that manages internet addresses around the world.
What PuntuLLI Wants to Do
PuntuLLI's main goal is to create the ".lli" internet address. They want to do this following the rules set by ICANN. ICANN has a policy that allows new internet addresses for different languages and cultures. So, PuntuLLI is working to make sure the Leonese language and culture have their own special place online with a ".lli" domain.
PuntuLLI's Activities
In 2008, PuntuLLI helped other projects that promote the Leonese language. They acted as a sponsor for some events. For example, they supported the Armwrestling World Championship, which took place in Llión. They also helped with the Leonese Country Pipe Bands Championship. The City Council of León even chose PuntuLLI to help with internet activities during the Third Leonese Language Day.

More than 800 people have joined PuntuLLI's campaign. Also, 44 different organizations support the idea. They all want to see a special internet address for Leonese language and culture websites. They show their support through the PuntuLLI website.
Other Similar Campaigns
Many other groups are also working to get their own special internet addresses. These include addresses for different languages and cultures in places like Scotland, Wales, Brittany, Galicia, Basque Country, England, Quebec, and Cornwall.
