Puzzle Lake is a lake located in Florida, near the town of Geneva. It sits right on the border between Seminole County and Volusia County. This lake is an important part of the larger St. Johns River system.
Puzzle Lake covers about 1,300 acres (530 ha) of water. A river called the Econlockhatchee River flows into the lake from the north. The St. Johns River also flows through it. About 3.2 miles (5.1 km) downstream from Puzzle Lake is Lake Harney. After Lake Harney, the river becomes a wide wetland area. It then narrows back into a river past Lake Poinsett.
The lake gets its interesting name, "Puzzle Lake," because its navigable parts change a lot. This happens with the seasons, depending on how much rain falls. When the water levels drop, boat routes that people knew before might be blocked. New sandbars can appear, and deep channels can form in different places each year. This makes boating on the lake a bit like solving a puzzle!
