Queen Creek is a town located in Arizona, United States. It is found in both Maricopa and Pinal counties. In 2020, about 59,519 people lived there. Queen Creek is a suburb of Phoenix, meaning it's a smaller town near a big city. It's in the far southeast part of the Phoenix area. A large battery factory is being built in Queen Creek by a company called LG.

The Story of Queen Creek

Queen Creek was first known as "Rittenhouse." This name came from a railroad stop. In 1919, a company called Queen Creek Farms was started by C. H. Rittenhouse. They built the railroad stop to send farm goods to other places.

The town's name comes from a creek that flows through Queen Canyon. This creek was named after the Silver Queen Mine. Before that, it was called "Picket Post Creek." Today, the creek is usually dry, like a desert riverbed.

Where is Queen Creek Located?

Most of Queen Creek is in Maricopa County. However, some parts of the town reach into Pinal County. To the south and east, Queen Creek borders a community called San Tan Valley.

The town covers about 42.13 square miles (109.1 square kilometers) of land. Only a very small part of it, about 0.028 square miles (0.073 square kilometers), is water.
