Quinto is a special neighborhood, or barrio, in the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is one of 31 barrios in Ponce. Quinto is also one of the first six neighborhoods that made up the original city of Ponce. It was officially created in 1878. The other original barrios are Primero, Segundo, Tercero, Cuarto, and Sexto.

Where is Quinto Located?
Quinto is an urban barrio, meaning it's part of the city area. It is found in the southern part of the municipality of Ponce. It sits within the city limits, just northeast of the main city center, which is called Plaza Las Delicias.
What are Quinto's Borders?
Barrio Quinto has clear boundaries. To the north, it's bordered by Guadalupe Street. To the south, you'll find Isabel Street. On its western side is Atocha Street. The eastern border is marked by the Rio Portugues.
When looking at other neighborhoods, Quinto is next to Sexto in the north. To the south, it borders Tercero. On its west side is Segundo. Finally, to the east, it shares a border with Machuelo Abajo.
Facts and Figures About Quinto
Quinto is a small area, covering about 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometers) of land. It does not have any water areas within its borders.
In the year 2000, about 724 people lived in Quinto. This meant there were about 6,811 people living in every square mile. By 2010, the population had changed to 568 people. The number of people per square mile also changed to 5,680.
Important Places in Quinto
Quinto is home to some interesting landmarks. You can visit the Museo Francisco Pancho Coimbre, which is a museum. The Isabel II Marketplace is also located here. This marketplace is often called Plaza del Mercado de Ponce.
Several buildings in Barrio Quinto are listed on the NRHP (National Register of Historic Places). These include the Font-Ubides House, the Mercado de las Carnes (also known as Plaza Juan Ponce de León), and the old Spanish Military Headquarters, which used to be a city jail.
