Radu Sîrbu (born December 14, 1978), also known as RadU or Picasso, is a famous singer and music producer from Moldova. He is best known for being a member of the popular boy band O-Zone. The group created the worldwide hit song, Dragostea Din Tei. Today, he lives and works in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.

Early Life and Music

Radu Sîrbu was born in the village of Peresecina, Moldova. He also lived in the cities of Orhei and Bălți when he was young. As a teenager, he returned to his home village for high school. There, he worked as a DJ at his dad's nightclub.

Radu loved music and performing from a young age. He even started his own studio called "Artshow" for kids and teens to put on musical shows. After high school, he went to the Chișinău Music Conservatory to study music seriously. At the same time, he taught singing to children.

The Rise of O-Zone

In 2001, a big change happened in Radu's life. He auditioned for a new group being put together by a singer named Dan Balan. Radu was chosen, and he joined the band O-Zone along with Dan and Arsenie Todiraș (also known as Arsenium).

O-Zone quickly became a huge success in Moldova. To reach more fans, the group moved to Bucharest, Romania, in 2002. Their song "Despre Tine" ("About You") shot to the top of the music charts in Romania.

Worldwide Fame with "Dragostea Din Tei"

O-Zone's biggest moment came with their song "Dragostea Din Tei," which means "Love from the Linden Trees." This song made them famous all over the world. After being number one in Romania, an Italian record company signed them.

In 2004, the song was released in Italy and became a massive hit across Europe. It was number one on the Eurochart Hot 100 for twelve weeks! It also reached the top of the charts in France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

Solo Career and New Projects

In January 2005, the members of O-Zone decided to split up to work on their own music. Dan Balan moved to the United States, and Arsenie Todiraș started a solo career in Germany.

Radu also began working on his own projects. He released a song called "Dulce" and an album titled Alone. He also made a music video for his song "Whap-pa." In 2007, he teamed up with his old bandmate Arsenium to release the single "July."

Today, Radu uses the stage name RadU. He lives in Romania with his wife, Ana, and their children.

Work as a Music Producer

Besides singing, Radu is also a talented music producer. He started working with DJ Layla and helped produce her song "Single Lady." Radu and his wife, Ana, helped write the lyrics. The song became a number-one hit in Moscow, Russia.

He later started a production brand called Wild Rose Project. In 2014, Radu produced the song "Dynamite" for the singer Liza Fox. The song was a success and made it into the top 40 music charts in the United Kingdom.
