Rajah Kirby Caruth (born June 11, 2002) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He races full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He drives the No. 71 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports. He also races part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. For that series, he drives the No. 32 Chevrolet SS for Jordan Anderson Racing.

Rajah Caruth's Racing Journey
Starting Out in Racing
Rajah first fell in love with racing after watching the Disney Pixar movie Cars when he was a kid. When he was 12, his parents surprised him with a trip to a NASCAR Cup Series race. This was at Richmond Raceway in September 2014.
In 2018, Rajah was busy with school, basketball, track, and a summer job. He and his family worked to raise money for an iRacing simulator. Once he turned 16, he started racing virtually in the eNASCAR Ignite Series. Rajah's skills caught the eye of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Program. This led to him racing a legends car at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2019. He finished his first season with two top 10 finishes. He placed 13th in the Semi-pro points.
Moving Up to Late Models
In 2020, Caruth moved up to the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. He won his first late model race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. He ended that season with 3 top 5s and 9 top 10s in 19 late model races.
In 2021, Caruth continued in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. He earned two more late model wins at Hickory Motor Speedway. On May 1, 2021, Caruth won at the Tri-County Motor Speedway. He became the first African-American driver to win there. This was his fourth overall late model win.
Racing in the ARCA Series
On February 3, 2021, Caruth announced he would race full-time in the ARCA Menards Series East. He joined Rev Racing and competed for Rookie of the Year. He finished the season third in the standings. He had 2 top 5s and 3 top 10s.
He also made his first ARCA Menards Series start at Iowa Speedway in July 2021. He finished 9th in that race. Caruth also raced in the ARCA Menards Series West. He finished 8th in his first West Series race in 2021. In 2022, he finished 4th in another West Series race.
In 2022, Caruth raced full-time in the main ARCA Menards Series with Rev Racing. He had his best finish of 2nd at the 2022 Dutch Boy 150. He earned eight top five and fourteen top ten finishes. He ended the season 3rd in the final points standings.
Xfinity Series Races

2022 Xfinity Season
In 2022, Rajah Caruth made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut. He raced for Alpha Prime Racing. His first race was at Richmond Raceway in April. He started 22nd and finished 24th. He had some tough luck in other races, including a crash at Pocono Raceway. At Kansas Speedway, he switched to the No. 45 car. He earned his first top 20 finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, placing 20th. His best finish that year was 12th at Martinsville Speedway.
2023 Xfinity Season
Caruth returned to Alpha Prime Racing for a partial schedule in 2023. He again earned his best finish of 12th at Martinsville. In September, it was announced that Caruth would drive for Hendrick Motorsports in the final race of the season at Phoenix Raceway. He ran well, close to the top ten, but a bump on the final lap caused him to finish 14th.
2025 Xfinity Season
Jordan Anderson Racing announced that Caruth would race for them at Dover in 2025.
Craftsman Truck Series Races
2022 Truck Season
On May 31, 2022, Caruth made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut. He raced for Spire Motorsports at World Wide Technology Raceway. He finished 11th in his first start. He also raced at Richmond and Bristol that year.
2023 Truck Season
In 2023, Caruth raced full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for GMS Racing. The Wendell Scott Foundation sponsored him for part of the season. He had a challenging start but earned his best finish of 6th at Darlington Raceway in May. He did not make the playoffs. However, he improved his performance during the playoffs, getting three top-ten finishes. He ended the season 16th in points.
2024 Truck Season

Caruth joined Spire Motorsports full-time in 2024, driving the No. 71 truck. He started the season strong with a 3rd place finish at Daytona. The next week, he finished 8th at Atlanta. On February 28, HendrickCars.com announced they would sponsor him for all 23 races.
At Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Caruth earned his first career win! He became only the third African-American driver to win in one of NASCAR's top three series. He joined Wendell Scott and Bubba Wallace in this achievement. Caruth made it into the playoffs but was eliminated in the Round of 8. He finished seventh in the overall points. In November 2024, Caruth was named the Most Popular Driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
2025 Truck Season

Caruth returned to Spire Motorsports for the 2025 season. He had a tough start at Daytona, finishing 30th. However, he earned his first win of the season at Nashville.
Rajah Caruth's Life Outside the Track
Rajah Caruth was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His father is from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and his mother is from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Barbados. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and Washington, D.C..
In June 2020, a NASCAR documentary called "Through the Fences" featured Caruth. It showed his racing journey and how he joined the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program. He also appeared in an episode of "The Family Business" on BET+.
He graduated from the School Without Walls High School in 2020. In December 2022, Caruth joined racing legend Richard Petty on NASCAR's float in the 2023 Rose Parade. He is good friends with fellow driver Bubba Wallace, who helps guide him during races.
In 2023, another documentary about him, Outside Line, was released. Caruth is in a relationship with actress and producer, Marsai Martin. In 2024, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Motorsports Management from Winston-Salem State University.
