Ram Naresh Yadav (born July 1, 1928 – died November 22, 2016) was an important Indian politician. He served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 1977 to 1979. He was first part of the Janata Party and later joined the Congress Party. He also held the position of Governor of Madhya Pradesh from 2011 to 2016.

About Ram Naresh Yadav's Life
Ram Naresh Yadav was born on July 1, 1928, in a place called Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, India. He grew up in a middle-class family. His father was a teacher. Before entering politics, Ram Naresh Yadav worked as a successful lawyer in the Azamgarh court. He passed away on November 22, 2016, in Lucknow.
Ram Naresh Yadav's Political Journey
Ram Naresh Yadav was very interested in helping society. He was close to a well-known socialist leader named Raj Narain. In 1977, he entered the Lok Sabha, which is one of the two houses of the Indian Parliament. He was elected from the Azamgarh area. People thought of him as a humble and quiet politician.
Becoming Chief Minister
On June 23, 1977, Ram Naresh Yadav became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. A Chief Minister is like the head of the government for a state in India. He held this important job until February 28, 1979. Towards the end of his term, he faced a situation where he needed to show that he still had the support of the elected members. This is called a vote of confidence. He was not able to get enough support. After this, Banarsi Das was chosen to be the new Chief Minister.
Later Political Roles
In the 2004 general elections, Ram Naresh Yadav ran for a seat in the Lok Sabha again. This time, he was with the Indian National Congress party. However, he did not win the election.
Later, on August 26, 2011, he was appointed as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. A Governor is a representative of the President in an Indian state. He was appointed by the then President of India, Pratibha Patil, based on the recommendation of the government at that time. He served as Governor until September 7, 2016.
