Town History
Ramseur was named after Stephen Dodson Ramseur. He was a major general in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
A historic building, the Deep River-Columbia Manufacturing Company, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. This means it's an important place that is protected because of its history.
Education
Students in Ramseur attend schools that are part of the Randolph County School System. Eastern Randolph High School is a public high school located right in Ramseur.
