Ranier is a small city located in Koochiching County, Minnesota, in the United States. In 2020, the city had a population of 569 people.
Ranier is found just east of International Falls. It is also right across the river from Fort Frances, Ontario in Canada. This location on the Rainy River and Rainy Lake makes it an important entry point to Canada.
The city of Ranier was officially started in 1908. It began as a busy pioneer town. Many people came here hoping to start a new life in the northern part of the state.
