Ranveer Singh Brar (born 8 February 1978) is a famous Indian chef, TV host, and author. He is well known for being a judge on the popular cooking show MasterChef India. He has also hosted many other food shows and acted in movies and web series. Ranveer Brar started his cooking journey after finishing school in Lucknow and has been a chef for almost 30 years.

Early Life and Food Journey
Ranveer Brar was born in Lucknow, India, on February 8, 1978. His family is Jat Sikh. When he was young, he loved watching the local Kebab sellers in Lucknow. This made him want to learn more about food. He went to HAL school in Lucknow.
His passion for cooking grew so much that he became an apprentice to a kebab seller named Munir Ustad. Even though his family was not sure at first, they later supported him. He then joined the Institute of Hotel Management, Lucknow, to learn cooking in a more formal way.
Chef Career and Restaurants
Ranveer Brar began his professional cooking career with the Taj Group of Hotels. He worked at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi.
Opening Restaurants
In 2001, he moved to Goa and opened three restaurants at the Fort Aguada Beach Resort:
- Morisco: A seafood restaurant.
- il Camino: An Italian restaurant.
- Fishtail: A small outdoor barbecue spot.
After his success in Goa, he returned to Delhi in 2003. He became the executive chef at the new Radisson Blu Hotel, Noida. At just 25 years old, he was the youngest executive chef in India at that time.
International Experience
Later, Ranveer Brar went to Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. There, he helped open "Banq," a fancy Franco-Asian restaurant. Banq won many awards, including "Best New Restaurant in the World" from "Wallpaper" magazine.
He also worked as a Corporate Chef for the One World Hospitality Group in Boston. Eventually, he came back to India and joined Novotel, Juhu Beach, in Mumbai as a Senior Executive Chef.
New Food Concepts
Chef Brar is very good at creating new restaurant ideas and menus. He worked with MTV India to launch their chain of restaurants, like FLYP @ MTV. He also created special meal kits with Haute Chef.
In 2016, he opened a dessert shop in Mumbai called English Vinglish. It sold vegetarian Indian desserts, breads, and baked goods with a modern twist. He also opened TAG Gourmart Kitchen, an all-vegetarian restaurant in Mumbai.
Ranveer Brar has also worked with big companies like Royal Caribbean International to create Indian food for cruise ships. He also helped Thomas Cook India design menus for Indian travelers going abroad. In 2023, he opened a new Indian restaurant called Kashkan in Dubai Festival City Mall. It offers dishes from all over India.

Ranveer Brar is widely known for being a judge on MasterChef India. He first joined as a judge in Season 4 (2014) and returned for Season 6 (2020), Season 7 (2023), and Season 8. He judges alongside other famous chefs like Vikas Khanna.
