Raploch, often called The Raploch or The Raptap by locals, is a neighborhood in the city of Stirling. It is located south of the River Forth in central Scotland.

Discovering Raploch's Past
Raploch has a long history. The very first houses were built here in the late 1600s. This happened after the land was sold by the Earl of Mar to a group connected with Cowane's Hospital in Stirling.
How Raploch Grew
For a while, not much building happened. But then, in the early 1800s, more homes started to appear. The biggest growth spurt came in the mid-1900s. At that time, many old, worn-out houses in Stirling were replaced with new council homes in Raploch.

Football Stars from Raploch
One of the most famous people from Raploch is the football legend Billy Bremner. He even went to the local St. Mary's Roman Catholic primary school. More recently, another football star, David Goodwillie, also came from Raploch.

Documentaries About Raploch
In 2002, BBC Scotland made a documentary called Raploch Stories. It showed what life was like in the area. Later, in 2017, a follow-up documentary called Raploch Stories Revisited was made.
Modern Changes in Raploch
Since 2004, Raploch has been changing a lot. Many new buildings and improvements have been made to the area. This is called physical regeneration.
The Big Noise Orchestra
A really special thing happened in Raploch in 2008. It became home to the UK's first El Sistema children's orchestra. This amazing group is called Big Noise Raploch.
Performing with Famous Musicians
The Big Noise Raploch orchestra has over 100 young members. They even performed with famous conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela in 2012. They also appeared on a BBC Scotland Christmas Eve TV special that same year, performing in Stirling's Holy Rude Church.
