History of Reddick
When Was Reddick Founded?
Reddick was officially started on June 8, 1882. The local post office also opened in Reddick that same year. The town got its name from John Reddick, who was the very first postmaster there. The Town of Reddick became an official town in 1925.
What Else Happened in Reddick's History?
In 1998, a group of nuns started a special place called the Annunciation of the Theotokos Monastery. They got approval from the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to do this.
The movie Jeepers Creepers was filmed in Reddick during the summer of 2000. The old Reddick High School building was used as the police station in the film.
