Reece City is a small town in Etowah County, Alabama, in the United States. It officially became a town in May 1956. Reece City is part of the larger Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a group of nearby cities and towns. In 2020, about 615 people lived there.

Where is Reece City?

Reece City is located in the middle of Etowah County. It sits in a valley near a stream called Little Wills Creek. To the west, there's a place called Big Ridge, and to the east, you can see Lookout Mountain.

Two important roads go through Reece City. U.S. Route 11 runs right through the town's center. Interstate 59 runs next to US 11 on the east side. You can get onto I-59 from Exit 188.

Alabama State Route 211 also crosses US 11 and I-59. This road leads south about 6 miles (10 km) to Gadsden, which is the main city of the county. If you take I-59, you can travel about 33 miles (53 km) northeast to Fort Payne. Or, you can go about 63 miles (101 km) southwest to Birmingham.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that Reece City covers a total area of about 3.56 square miles (9.2 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
