Rehan Jahangir Poncha (born on August 3, 1986) is a famous Indian swimmer. He used to compete in many swimming styles, like backstroke, butterfly, and individual medley. Rehan is an Olympian, which means he competed in the Olympic Games.

He has won many awards, including the Arjuna Award and the Eklavya Award. These awards are given to top athletes in India. Rehan was also a six-time national champion in swimming. He held six national records, especially in the 100-meter and 200-meter butterfly races.

Rehan's Swimming Career

Rehan Poncha was a very successful swimmer for India. He competed in many big events around the world.

Asian Championships Success

At the 2009 Asian Swimming Championships in Foshan, China, Rehan and his teammates won a bronze medal. They competed in the freestyle and medley relay races. His teammates were Sandeep Sejwal, Virdhawal Khade, and Aaron D'Souza.

Competing in the Olympics

Rehan Poncha swam for India at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He competed in the men's 200-meter butterfly event. To qualify, he had to swim a certain fast time. He achieved this time at a competition in Sydney, Australia.

In his Olympic race, Rehan finished second in his heat. Even though he swam well, he did not make it to the semifinals. He placed fortieth overall in the first round of races.
