Resi Stiegler (born November 14, 1985) is a former alpine ski racer from the United States. She competed in the World Cup series. Resi was best known for her skills in technical ski events, especially slalom.

Resi grew up in Jackson, Wyoming. Her father, Josef "Pepi" Stiegler, was an Austrian Olympic champion in skiing. Resi started skiing at age two and began racing at six at Jackson Hole.

Early Career and Junior Success

Resi showed great talent from a young age. Her success in Junior Olympic and Nor-Am races helped her join the U.S. Ski Team. She made her first World Cup appearance at 17 in December 2002. This was a slalom race in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, where she finished an impressive eleventh.

At the 2003 Junior World Championships in France, Resi won two bronze medals. She earned them in slalom and combined events. Later that year, she placed tenth in the combined event at the "grown-up" World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

World Cup Achievements and Olympic Debuts

By March 2016, Resi Stiegler had achieved 21 top-ten finishes in World Cup races. She also reached the podium once, meaning she finished in the top three. At the 2005 World Championships in Santa Caterina, Italy, she finished sixth in the combined event.

Resi made her first Olympic appearance at the 2006 Torino games when she was 20 years old. She placed eleventh in the combined event and twelfth in the slalom. She also competed in the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics.

Signature Style and Overcoming Injuries

Resi Stiegler is famous for the tiger ears she often wears on her helmet. She even won a well-known disagreement with the International Olympic Committee. This allowed her to compete with her tiger ears at the Torino Olympics.

Resi faced several injuries during her career. However, she made a strong comeback. In March 2012, she achieved her first World Cup podium finish. She came in second place in a slalom race in Ofterschwang, Germany. This was her first top-ten finish in more than four years, showing her determination.
