Isabelle Rezazadeh, born on March 28, 1995, is a talented DJ and music producer known as Rezz. She is from Ukraine and Canada, growing up in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Rezz released her first collection of songs, called an extended play (EP), Insurrection in 2015. She then signed with the record label mau5trap in 2016. Through Mau5trap, she released two more EPs: The Silence is Deafening and Something Wrong Here. Her first full album, Mass Manipulation, came out in 2017. Her second album, Certain Kind of Magic, followed in 2018.
In 2021, Rezz released her third album, Spiral, through RCA Records. She later started her own record label, HypnoVizion Records. Her fourth album, Can You See Me?, which focuses on a bass music sound, was released in 2024 through her new label.

Early Life and Music Start
Isabelle Rezazadeh was born in Ukraine on March 28, 1995. Her mother is Ukrainian and her father is Iranian. Her family moved to Canada when she was young and settled in Niagara Falls. While in high school there, Rezz worked at a Hard Rock Cafe.
Rezz started being a DJ when she was 16 years old. At first, she played music by other artists. She was inspired to create her own music after seeing a concert by the artist deadmau5. Rezz knew she wanted to work in the music industry by the time she was 18.
Rezz's Music Journey
Early Career (2013–2016)
In 2013, Rezz began making music on her laptop at home. She shared her music on the website SoundCloud. Her EP Insurrection was released on July 20, 2015, through a part of Owsla called NEST. Later that year, she released music with Mau5trap, deadmau5's record label. Her song "Serenity" was part of their We Are Friends, Vol. 4 album.
During this time, the famous DJ Skrillex noticed Rezz. He followed her and sent her a message on Twitter. In 2016, Rezz announced her EP The Silence is Deafening. It was released on January 22, 2016, through Mau5trap. Her second EP, Something Wrong Here, came out on October 7, 2016. This EP was popular in the United States, reaching number 19 on the Billboard Dance Charts.
First Albums (2017–2018)
In 2017, Mau5trap announced Rezz's first full album, Mass Manipulation. A music video for her song "Relax" was released on July 7, 2017, to help promote the album. Mass Manipulation became available for digital download on August 4, 2017. It was also released as a vinyl LP on October 6, 2017. In 2018, Mass Manipulation won the award for Best Electronic Album of the Year at the Juno Awards.
On June 1, 2018, Rezz announced her second album, Certain Kind of Magic. The first song from the album, "Witching Hour", was released on June 4. The second song, "Hex", was a team-up with 1788-L and came out later that month. The full album was released on August 3 through Mau5trap.
New Projects (2019–2021)
On May 14, 2019, Rezz shared on Twitter that her EP Beyond the Senses would be released on July 24. She released the song "Dark Age" the next day. On June 12, she released a song called "Falling" with the band Underoath. A music video for "Falling" was released on the same day. There was also an online virtual reality (VR) listening party for the EP.
Rezz was featured in the 2020 documentary film Underplayed. She also performed a DJ set after the film's Canadian premiere at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival.
In 2021, Rezz worked with deadmau5 to release a song called "Hypnocurrency" through Mau5trap. She performed at Porter Robinson's virtual music festival Secret Sky on April 24. On May 21, Rezz released "Taste of You", a song she made with Dove Cameron. Rezz's third album, Spiral, was released on November 19.
HypnoVizion Records and Recent Work (2022–Present)
In 2022, Rezz started her own record label, HypnoVizion Records. The first release from her label was a Halloween-themed mix and album called Nightmare on Rezz Street 2. On April 21, 2023, she announced an EP called It's Not a Phase. Rezz described this EP as "goth-punk," and it was released on July 20, 2023.
On October 13, 2023, Rezz and deadmau5 released "Infraliminal". This song was a new version of deadmau5's 2012 song "Superliminal". It was their first song together as REZZMAU5. Rezz said that "Superliminal" was her favorite deadmau5 song and inspired her to make music. In January 2024, Rezz released songs with Subtronics and Holly. She also announced her fourth album, Can You See Me?, which was released on March 14, 2024.
In 2025, Rezz performed at the first Force Fields music festival in Cadott, Wisconsin. She also performed at VELD Music Festival in Toronto. In March 2025, the artist Anyma showed a new song he made with Rezz at his Vegas Sphere show.
Musical Style and Inspirations
Rezz is an electronic music producer and DJ. Her music is often described as "midtempo bass" and a modern version of "new beat". In 2015, MTV called her the "new queen of the dark techno scene." They noted she had been making electronic and techy beats for two years.
Other music writers have said Rezz's music sounds "dark," "menacing," "mechanical," "haunting," and "industrial." Spotify described her as "one of the most highly regarded producers of downtempo soundscapes." They said her music balances simple electronic songs with heavy bass.
Rezz has described her own music as "eerie, grungy, dungeon sounds." She has said that when she was growing up, she mostly listened to bands, especially punk and rock bands. Some bands she listened to in her youth include My Chemical Romance, Bring Me the Horizon, and Underoath. She also mentioned Silverstein as a band that influenced her EP It's Not A Phase. Deadmau5 was an early inspiration for Rezz. She has also mentioned Zeds Dead and Metric as Canadian artists who influenced her. Rezz is known for the special LED spiraling "hypno glasses" she wears during her live shows.
Personal Life
On August 15, 2023, Rezz announced she was engaged to fellow musician Sydney Fisher. Sydney Fisher is known by her stage name fknsyd. The couple got married in September 2024.
