History of Richmond, Kansas
Richmond was started in the year 1870. It got its name from a local farmer named John C. Richmond. He was very generous and gave 40 acres of his land to the railroad. This land was used to build a train station.
The very first post office in Richmond opened its doors in April 1870. This made it easier for people to send and receive letters.
Geography and Location
