Rio Bravo is a city in Webb County, Texas, in the United States. It is about 16 miles (26 km) south of Laredo. The city sits on the banks of the Rio Grande river. In Spanish, "Rio Bravo" means "Brave River."
The city was started in 1982 by Cecil McDonald. He was a property developer. He also helped create the nearby city of El Cenizo. Rio Bravo officially became a city in 1989. In 2020, about 4,450 people lived there.
