Roche Ronde is a mountain peak in Alberta, Canada. It stands about 2,138 meters (7,014 feet) tall. You can find it at the southern end of the Bosche Range. This mountain is part of the amazing Canadian Rockies and is located inside Jasper National Park.
You can easily spot Roche Ronde from the Jasper House National Historic Site. This site is right along Highway 16. The mountain got its name because its top looks round. In French, "Roche Ronde" means "round rock."
What is the climate like at Roche Ronde?
Roche Ronde has a subarctic climate. This means it has very cold, snowy winters. The summers are usually mild. Temperatures can drop really low, sometimes below -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit). With the wind, it can feel even colder, below -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit)!
All the rain and melting snow from Roche Ronde flows into the Athabasca River. This river is a very important part of the park's natural system.
