Rollingstone was started by people who moved here from a country called Luxembourg. They came to build new lives. The city got its name from a nearby stream, which is called Rollingstone Creek.

Two important buildings in Rollingstone are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are special and protected because of their history. One is the Church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1869. The other is the Rollingstone Village Hall, built in 1900.
