Romeo is a small town in Conejos County, Colorado, United States. It is called a "Statutory Town" because it follows rules set by the state of Colorado. In 2020, about 302 people lived there.
A post office opened in Romeo in 1901. The town's name comes from the last name Romero.
Where is Romeo Located?
Romeo is in the middle-east part of Conejos County. It is found in a large area called the San Luis Valley.
A main road, U.S. Route 285, runs along the west side of town. This road goes north about 21 miles to Alamosa. It also goes south about 12 miles to the New Mexico border.
Colorado State Highway 142 is Romeo's Main Street. It starts at U.S. 285 and goes east. This road leads about 3 miles to Manassa and 32 miles to San Luis.
The United States Census Bureau says that Romeo covers about 0.2 square miles (0.6 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the town limits.
