Rostam Giv (also known as Arbab Rostam Giv) was a very kind person from Iran. He started the Giv charity foundation to help people. He was also a special representative for Zoroastrians in the Iranian parliament. Later, he became a senator in the Iranian Senate. He lived from 1880 to 1980.

Rostam Giv's Life Story

Rostam Giv was born in 1888 in a city called Yazd in Iran. His mother's name was Kharman, and his father's name was Shahpour.

He went to Kay Khosravi school for his early education. He also learned the English language while living in Yazd.

After Keikhosrow Shahrokh passed away in 1939, Rostam Giv was chosen for an important role. He became the representative for Zoroastrians in the Iranian National Assembly. This was like being a voice for his community in the government.

In 1958, he created "Giv's Charity Foundation." This foundation was made to help people who needed support. Because of his good work, he was chosen to be a senator in the Iranian Senate in 1963.

Rostam Bagh: A Special Garden

Rostam Bagh is a very large garden located on Tehran Pars Street in Tehran. Arbab Rostam built this garden in 1957. It was made to provide homes for Zoroastrian families who needed a place to live.

This big garden covers about 25,000 square meters. It has many useful buildings inside. You can find homes, a meeting hall, and even two schools there. There is also a sports ground, a library, and a fire temple.

Helping with Water in Yazd

One of Rostam Giv's important charity projects was building a water reservoir in Yazd. A water reservoir is a large tank or lake used to store water.

This reservoir can hold 4,000 cubic meters of water. It provides clean and safe water for the people of Yazd. This was a huge help for the community.

Building Schools for Children

Rostam Giv cared a lot about education. He built several schools for children in Iran. He built Giv's elementary school, Ostad Khdobabakhsh elementary school, and Ostad pour-Davood elementary school. These schools were for both boys and girls in Tehran.

He also gave a large piece of land, about 15,000 square meters, to Iran's Ministry of Education. This land was in Damavand County. It was another way he helped provide education for young people.

Charity Work Around the World

A few months before the Iranian Revolution, Rostam Giv and his wife moved to the United States. There, he continued his charity work.

They gave 4 million dollars to build Zoroastrian charity centers. These centers were built in different cities around the world. They helped Zoroastrian communities in many places.

They built charity buildings in New York, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, and Sydney.
