Rude Dog is a cartoon white dog character. He was first created by artist Brad McMahon in the 1980s for a clothing brand called Sun Sportswear. This clothing line was all about surfing and skateboarding styles. In 2015, Brad McMahon officially owned the trademark for Rude Dog again. McMahon also created Rude Dog's friends, a group of dogs called "the Dweebs," and Rude Dog's enemy, Seymour.

Rude Dog's Style and Beginnings
Rude Dog looks like a special kind of dog called a Bull Terrier. His name "Rude" had two meanings. It was meant to sound a bit rebellious, and it also referred to the "rude boy" music style called ska, which was popular back then. Most of the clothing featuring Rude Dog used cool, sharp designs and bright neon colors. This was a popular fashion trend at the time, similar to brands like Quiksilver and Vision Street Wear.

To make Rude Dog even more popular, Sun Sportswear helped create a Saturday-morning cartoon show in 1989. It was called Rude Dog and the Dweebs. The cartoon was just as colorful as the clothes! Rude Dog, the main character, drove a pink 1959 Cadillac. The show was set in a very colorful Beverly Hills, full of soft pastel and bright neon colors. Marvel Productions made the series.
Meet the Characters
Rude Dog, voiced by Rob Paulsen with a Brooklyn accent, runs an auto repair shop. He gets help from his group of friends, called the Dweebs. They are all different kinds of dogs:

- Reggie: A Smooth Fox Terrier who sounds like Jack Nicholson, voiced by Mendi Segal.

Rude Dog's Adventures
The Dweebs have a tricky cat enemy named Seymour, also voiced by Frank Welker. There's also a dog catcher named Herman, voiced by Peter Cullen, and his not-so-smart Rottweiler assistant, Rot, voiced by Frank Welker. Every week, Rude Dog and his friends try to do their work at the auto shop. But they also have to try and escape from Seymour, Herman, and Rot, who are always chasing them!
