The men's rugby sevens tournament at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics chose twelve teams from November 2022 to June 2024. Each of the six main World Rugby areas had to send a team. France, as the host country, automatically got a spot. The other teams earned their places through three different ways.

Then, six more spots went to the winners of special tournaments in each of the six regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America, and South America. The very last spot for the twelve-team tournament went to the winner of the Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, which happened about a month before the Games.
