Rushville is a city located in Sheridan County, Nebraska, in the United States. It's found in a quiet area of Nebraska called the Sandhills Region. In 2010, about 890 people lived there. Rushville is also the main town, or county seat, for Sheridan County.

About Rushville
Rushville got its name from a nearby stream called Rush Creek.
The Lakota people have their own names for Rushville. They call it Owátȟokšu or Iwátȟokšu Otȟúŋwahe. These names mean "Place where things are transported" or "Transportation City".
History of Rushville
Rushville was officially planned out in 1885. This happened when the Fremont, Elkhorn, and Missouri Valley Railway built its train tracks to that spot.
The city of Rushville was officially made a town in October 1885.
